On 22nd January 2013 MOL Romania and the Environmental Partnership Foundation launched for the eighth time the "Green Spaces" grant making program. The total amount for 2013 is 670.000 RON that are offered for NGOs, for developing environmental protection projects.
The Green Spaces program is formed by two components - Urban Green Spaces and Protected Areas. For the first time, beginning with this year, will be funded projects to develop green spaces in the courts of the tenants’ buildings.
In the 2006-2012 periods nearly 109.000 volunteers were involved in the rehabilitation or establishment of urban green spaces and in the promotion of protected areas. Through these projects 335,000 green square meters were created. Also, "Green Spaces" program supported 100 projects in order to make aware people about the importance of protected areas.
The deadline for submitting applications is 19th February, 2013.
Maximum amount/project for the Green Spaces component: 9.000 RON.
Maximum amount/project for the Protected Areas component: 20.000 RON.
The own contribution of the applicant organization must be at least 20% of the project budget.
"Protected Natural Areas Award"
Starting with this year, through the protected Areas component, MOL Romania and the Environmental Partnership Foundation will award the organization that involved a large number of volunteers in the project, was able to inform a consistent number of citizens about the importance of the protected areas and that applied throughout the project creative and innovative ideas. It will be also considered the media coverage of the project. Prize consists of an award of 10.000 lei.
